Collaboration has an information problem.

MODERN WORK

More places to work can mean more places to look.

When a document could live in a chat, a shared drive, a personal folder, or a team site, finding it becomes a separate task. The platform may be functioning exactly as designed while the experience still feels fragmented.

Begin with a few simple agreements: where important information belongs, who owns it, who can access it, and when it should be reviewed. These decisions often do more for everyday usability than another set of features.

Design around a real journey.

Follow one common activity from beginning to end—onboarding a colleague, preparing a proposal, or handing work between teams. Notice each search, duplicate, and permission request. That journey is a practical map of what to improve.

Bring this question to your team: Can someone new find the current answer without knowing whom to ask?
